We write to share the bittersweet news that Annie McGuire will be concluding her time at Mannix College, with her final day being 14 May 2025. Annie has accepted an exciting new role as Deputy Principal of Janet Clarke Hall at the University of Melbourne — a well-deserved opportunity and a wonderful next step in her career.

Since joining Mannix in 2022, Annie has made a significant and positive impact on our community, bringing warmth, wisdom and unwavering care to her work with students and staff alike. We are deeply grateful for her dedicated service, and we know her legacy will continue to be felt long after her departure.

We also take this opportunity to say farewell to Annie’s loyal canine companion, Joe — a beloved furry friend to many at Mannix — whose cheerful presence (and occasional mischief) brought plenty of smiles to our community. Along with Joe, we extend our gratitude and best wishes to Annie’s wonderful family — Chris, Katie, Caroline, Chloe and Harry — who have also been part of the extended Mannix family during Annie’s time with us.

Recruitment for the Next Dean of Students & Deputy Principal
The College has engaged Perrett Laver, a leading executive search firm, to support a national search for our next Dean of Students & Deputy Principal. This process will ensure we attract outstanding candidates who share our commitment to Catholic and college values, student wellbeing, academic excellence, and community life.

Continuity of Care and Support for Students
We want to reassure all students and families that Mannix remains fully committed to providing the high-quality care and support that defines the College experience. Our dedicated Residential Support Team will continue to offer the guidance, pastoral care, and leadership that residents rely upon, and we will ensure a smooth transition period as we prepare to welcome a new Dean of Students & Deputy Principal.

Celebrating Annie’s Contributions
We will formally celebrate Annie and her contributions at an upcoming college event. This will be a special opportunity for our community to express our gratitude and send Annie off with the warmth and appreciation she deserves.

Please join us in thanking Annie for her exceptional service to Mannix and in wishing her — and Joe — every success in their new chapter. Further information about farewell opportunities and transition plans will be shared in the coming weeks.
