Current Resident Advisor hopes to attempt the Australian Land Speed Record.
Mannix’s very own Resident Advisor, Dominic Bongiorno is part of an engineering student team called Monash Human Power (MHP). https://monashhumanpower.org/. As a team they build custom, high speed human powered vehicles which reach speeds of up to 100km/h. While being extremely fun, this design process also creates vital technologies for sustainable vehicles. Dominic and his team this September we are going to Battle Mountain, Nevada to compete in the World Speed Trials. Their hope is to attempt the Australian Land Speed Record which would be a massive achievement for them, and a cause of great pride.
Originally from Geelong, Dom is studying Mechatronics Engineering at Monash University. He developed a passion for physics and maths in high school and would like to use his Engineering degree to help develop new, sustainable technologies to help combat the myriad issues we are currently facing.
He loves living at Mannix and believes that Mannix has been an integral part of enabling me to pursue my dreams.
Dom is looking for ongoing partners to help support this amazing opportunity. This doesn’t just mean money; we would also love to create an ongoing partnership with you and your company if possible!
He believes his team is capable of beating the land speed record, however the costs associated with travel, accommodation, and registration fees can be prohibitive. As a fellow Mannixian I’m sure you can relate to the experience of having an amazing experience presented to you but struggling to do so because of financial reasons.
If you are interested in helping be a partner in the dream or would like more information on Monash Human Power (https://monashhumanpower.org/) please contact Dominic Bongiorno | E: dbon0003@student.monash.edu
