On August 23, the College recognised 39 residents who achieved academic excellence in the Semester 1, 2023 study period.
The residents took the stage at an Academic Awards Formal Dinner attended by the College Residents, Tutors, Staff, and Esteemed Guests. The College announced the recipients of the coveted Knox Scholarship Awards and recognised residents who earned Academic Excellence awards by achieving a High-Distinction average. The full list of recipients is at the bottom of this article.
We were honoured to have Professor Allie Clemans, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Senior Vice-President at Monash University and Very Rev Joseph Caddy AM, Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, to present the awards.
The Knox Scholarships are awarded in memory of Cardinal James Robert Knox, Archbishop of Melbourne between 1967 – 1974, who blessed and laid the foundation stone at Mannix College on Thursday, May 23 1968. Knox Scholarships were awarded to the highest performing resident in each faculty and included a cash prize of $750 provided by the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.
The College is pleased to support and recognise those residents who have demonstrated academic excellence and notes how competitive these awards are, especially given the high quality of Mannix students.
The College is committed to offering residents a robust tutorial program to assist them in achieving their academic goals. The College delivers tutorials, in-person academic workshops and provides a bridge between the College and the learning support offered by Monash University.
The College congratulates all students on their academic efforts and progress.
