The Mannix Awards program recognises alumni and staff who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in their personal and professional life, or for service to their community, state or nation. Winners are announced at the Gryphon Gala.

Cailin, who joined Mannix in 2021 from Bendigo, has made remarkable strides in women’s cricket.

Facing the challenge of playing in junior boys’ teams in her early years, Cailin is part of a growing generation who are pioneering the landscape of women’s cricket.

Starting her career in country leagues, she quickly advanced to state championships with Northern Rivers Cricket and then to Premier Cricket with Carlton-Brunswick, now Carlton Cricket Club, where she excelled in the Under 17 Youth Premier League.

Her skill and determination led to her selection for Cricket Victoria’s Under-19 Female Emerging Performance squad in 2020 and a place in the Victorian country team for two years. Recently, Cailin joined the 2022/23 Emerging Players Program, indicative of her rising prominence in the sport.

Off the field, Cailin champions women’s cricket and balances her sporting pursuits with academic excellence. She recently completed her biomedicine exams and is preparing for a medical degree at Melbourne University. Her impactful speech at a formal dinner in 2022, where she shared her experiences in challenging gender barriers in cricket, was both powerful and inspiring.

We applaud Cailin’s accomplishments and eagerly anticipate her future successes on and off the cricket field.
